This rebate is for owner occupiers installing solar power systems on their principal place of residence. It can be for a grid connect or a stand-alone system.

The rebate is $8 per watt of solar power installed by an accredited installer. The minimum size is 450 watts and the maximum rebate of $8,000 is received on a 1000 watt system. It is available only to those with a family taxable income of under $100,000.

Primary and Secondary schools are eligible for a rebate of up to $50,000 for solar power as well as energy and water saving initiatives. Guidelines will be available soon.
